Our Story
Rooted in Experience. Built for Families.
Oak + Anchor Advocacy Group exists to help vulnerable children and families navigate complex systems — and to make sure no one has to do it alone.
Our Story
Why Oak + Anchor Exists
Oak + Anchor Advocacy Co. was founded by Jocelyn Piper — a child welfare professional, domestic violence advocate, and foster and adoptive parent of children with special needs. The organization was born directly from firsthand experience: watching families struggle to navigate fragmented, often overwhelming systems while trying to keep their children safe and supported.
Too often, the families who need the most help are the least equipped to advocate for themselves within those systems. Child welfare, foster care, adoption, domestic violence, special education, family court — each one carries its own language, its own bureaucracy, and its own barriers. Jocelyn saw that gap and built Oak + Anchor to close it.
Our mission is to ensure that every family has access to informed advocacy, trauma-responsive support, and practical guidance — regardless of income or circumstance. We believe that when families are equipped and supported, children thrive.
What We Stand For
Our Core Values
Dignity First
Every family deserves to be treated with respect and without judgment, no matter their circumstances.
Radical Accessibility
Advocacy and support should never be gatekept by income, language, or zip code.
Community-Rooted
We are embedded in the communities we serve — not parachuting in, but walking alongside.
Whole-Family Thinking
We see the full picture of a family's needs and work across systems to address them together.
Leadership
The People Behind the Work
Oak + Anchor is led by people who have lived and worked inside the systems we help families navigate.
